AbroadMates is a peer-to-peer study abroad mentorship platform. We connect aspiring international students with current students studying abroad. Our services include:
Each consultation is booked in advance through our platform. Sessions typically last 20 to 40 minutes.
Prices (including taxes): Session fees vary by mentor and duration, as displayed on each mentor's page at booking. Prices shown include all applicable taxes. No additional service tax is charged at checkout.
Additional Fees: None. The price you see is the final price. There are no extra charges (no shipping fees, as this is an online service, and no processing fees beyond the session price).
Accepted Payment Methods: Credit/Debit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc.) processed via Stripe. All payments are handled securely online.
Payment Period: Payment is charged immediately at the time of booking a session. And, sessions are automatically booked after a successful payment.
Mentorship sessions are delivered online via video call. The session takes place at the scheduled date and time chosen by the customer. No physical goods will be shipped.
Customer Cancellations: You may cancel or reschedule a session through your account. Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the scheduled session will receive a full refund to your original payment method. Late cancellations (within 24 hours of the session) may not be eligible for a refund.
No-Show or Service Issues: If your mentor does not show up to the session, or if the session cannot be completed due to technical difficulties or other issues on our side, you are entitled to a full refund or a free rescheduling of the session at no extra cost.
Dissatisfaction: If you completed a session but are unsatisfied with the service, please contact our support within 7 days of the session. We will review refund requests on a case-by-case basis and strive to ensure a fair resolution (partial or full refunds may be granted depending on the situation).
This disclosure is provided in accordance with Japan's consumer protection laws. Please note that the statutory "cooling-off" period does not apply to online mail-order services, including digital mentorship sessions.
We take your privacy seriously. Your personal details and session content are confidential and protected by advanced security measures. We do not record any video consultations.
